The SideMission field guide
Things to do instead of scrolling when you have 15 minutes
Choose one small activity with a clear finish: take a short noticing walk, sketch an object, tidy one surface, write to a friend, or listen to one song without opening a feed.
You do not need to fill the rest of the day. Choose one idea that fits where you are, put the phone out of reach, and stop when the small task is done. These are editorial activity ideas you can use without the app.

Have fifteen minutes and no plan? Choose one small activity with a clear finish. The SideMission field guide gives you five starting points. For a noticing walk, choose a familiar public route. Put the phone away, look for three details you usually miss, and return when your break ends. Want a different idea? Open Try a matched mission. The website selects a mood and time for you. Change either one, then choose Deal my mission to see a real mission card. The guide activities are free to read, and the website demo needs no account. Try the activity first. If the approach fits, follow the App Store link to SideMission for iPhone.
Walk to find three details
- Choose a familiar short route and a turnaround point.
- Look for three details you usually pass: a doorway, a tree, a reflection.
- Return before the 15 minutes are up.
Your finish: Remember or write down the three things you noticed.
Draw the object beside you
- Pick a mug, shoe, plant, or another nearby object.
- Draw its outline without checking your phone.
- Add one detail that makes it recognizable.
Your finish: Keep the sketch, even if it looks unusual.
Clear one small surface
- Choose a desk corner, bedside table, or one shelf.
- Put away the things that belong elsewhere.
- Leave the surface ready for its next use.
Your finish: Stop at that surface. The rest of the room can wait.
Send one thoughtful message
- Think of someone you have been meaning to contact.
- Write one specific memory or a simple invitation.
- Send it, then close the messaging app.
Your finish: The message is sent; you do not need to wait for a reply.
Listen to one whole song
- Choose a familiar song before putting the screen down.
- Listen through once without switching tracks.
- Notice an instrument or lyric you usually miss.
Your finish: When the song ends, decide what you want to do next.

Let Sid choose your next mission.
The free website demo starts with a mood and time. We have selected Chill and 15 minutes for you. You can change both before dealing a card.

What if I only have five minutes?
Choose the message or music idea. A small activity you finish is enough; you do not need to stretch it into a larger project.
Can I try a mission without downloading anything?
Yes. The website demo lets you choose a mood and time and deal a mission in your browser. The activity ideas on this page are also free to use.
Will this reduce my screen time?
These ideas give you an alternative for the next few minutes. They do not guarantee a change in your habits or measured screen time.
Keep the next step close.
SideMission for iPhone matches one mission to your mood and practical constraints. Its optional Mission Lock can block selected apps after Screen Time setup until you complete a mission and save its proof. You can turn it off in Settings.
